PROJECTS
STREET LEGAL
Street Legal is a policy provocation currently in its research phase. We unwound the red tape preventing food entrepreneurs from selling on the street and then designed a pilot pushcart program in tandem with our first chef partners. We hope to launch in 2024, and invite you to come taste the difference a policy change can make.
YOUTH HEADSPACE: MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN
We collaborated with our alma mater, Cambridge Rindge and Latin's Cambridge Youth Council to teach young leaders about the elements of a successful campaign, from ideation and messaging to color theory and typography, working with them to create + launch their mental health campaign, Youth Headspace.
A DINING BLOCK FOR THE CULTURAL DISTRICT
As the world turned itself inside out to create safe, outdoor spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic, we used the moment as an opportunity to reimagine Mass Ave, working with the Central Square BID to design a process for reclaiming roadway for restaurants and public seating. This initiative bolstered the identity of the district as a dining destination by adding 500 new seats and advocated for their permanence. (Photo: Kyle Klein)
POPPORTUNITY
Popportunity is a placekeeping and economic development initiative. Piloted in Central Square's Cultural District, Popportunity converts vacant space into temporary streetscapes, prototyping the missing link between pop-up market and leased brick-and-mortar. In just three years, Popportunity has graduated five program participants into their own brick-and-mortar stores and is now its own 501c3 non-profit.
STARLIGHT: A SQUARE IN THE SQUARE
Starlight Square is a temporary intervention that transforms Lot 5 in Central Square from a parking lot for cars into a place for people.
MISSION: MUSIC
